EEC has designed a two mile 115kV transmission line with 12.5kV underbuild and 1.8 miles of 34.5kV subtransmission line with 12.5kV underbuild. Work included coordination with PG&E for the 12.5kV underbuild design and cutovers. Construction was through mountainous terrain south of Lake Tahoe. Civil/Structural design included foundations and steel transmission poles.
Farmington Electric Utility System—Capacitor Placement
Analysis was performed using PSS/E Load Flow on the FEUS system. Single and multiple contingencies were analyzed to determine the need for a capacitor, its size, and its location to best alleviate possible voltage concerns.
Farmington Utilities Pine River Crossing Analysis
EEC analyzed the six span 13.8kV design that included a 2,540 ft span for FEUS. EEC made recommendations for the crossing structures, tensions and marker ball placement.
