Mapping Projects
GIS Work Order Update
San Isabel Electric Association, Pueblo, Colorado, 2006 - 2007
Update utility GIS system for completed work order staking sheets. Using client’s mapping standards, worked directly in the GIS software system to update the maps. Maps were updated with all standard GIS data entry including system connectivity, conductor type and phasing, consumers, transformers and poles.
Transmission System GIS
Western Area Power Administration, Loveland, Colorado, 2000-present:
Complete GIS design and implementation for the Western Rocky Mountain Region transmission system, including collection of field data on transmission access roads. GIS system includes transmission lines, structures and poles, access roads, environmentally sensitive areas and restrictions, archeological and historical areas and restrictions.
Plains Area Maps
United Power, Inc., Brighton, Colorado, 1994-2003:
Conversion of paper maps to GIS system for Plains region, approximately 25,000 customers and 687 square miles. Integration of subdivision plats in the Mountain region, and mapping of roads to supplement data from USGS and Tiger maps.
Mountain Area Mapping
United Power, Inc., Brighton, Colorado, 1994-2003:
Complete GPS data collection and conversion to GIS system for Mountain region, approximately 10,000 customers in 215 square miles. Collected data included phasing, poles, conductor sizes, feeders, switches, transformers, and meters. Integration of subdivision plats in the Mountain region, and GPS mapping of roads to supplement data from USGS and Tiger maps.
BP-9 to BP-17 115kV Transmission Line
City of Tallahassee, Florida, 2002-2003:
115kV urban transmission line corridor study and analysis, including public meetings, visual impact studies, corridor selection, and ranking of critical impacts for approximately 6.5 miles of line.
Distribution and Subtransmission System Mapping
City of Kimball, Nebraska, 1996-2003:
Complete mapping of the town’s distribution and subtransmission system, approximately 4 square miles, including GPS data collection of all pole locations, heights, and classes.
System Maps and WindMil Model
Wheatland REA, Wheatland, Wyoming 1995-2003:
Created electronic system maps from hand-drawn legacy documents, including new construction details. Modeled system on Milsoft WindMil software for load flow and short circuit analysis.
System Map
Town of Frederick, Colorado, 1994-2002:
Created complete maps of the town distribution system, including plats, subdivisions, and customer meters corresponding to billing data. Field verification of meter numbers and locations.
System Map Data Collection
Powder River Energy, Sundance, Wyoming, 1994-1995:
Mapping and field data collection for transmission and distribution system for creation of maps in AutoCAD, including line routes, transformers, sectionalizing devices, and customers. Created a field data collection database and formats for computer input by collectors, as well as conversion to a Unix system and correlation with existing utility databases for transformers, meters, and customer addresses.
